On May 18, on International Museum Day, the Renaissance Cultural and Intellectual foundation in the framework of The William Saroyan House Museum project held an event at the National Children's Library Of Armenia After Khnko-Aper dedicated to the 40th death anniversary of great writer William Saroyan.
During the event, the audio version of Saroyan's "My Heart's in the Highlands" was played, under which the students of "Hakob Kojoyan" educational complex created illustrations for the same book. The task was to imagine that William Saroyan himself applied to them with a request to create illustrations for his book "My Heart's in the Highlands", cover design, or maybe a poster of the same play or movie. The event is aimed to promote reading among schoolchildren. Although the Saroyan house museum is in Fresno, CA, the Renaissance cultural and intellectual foundation occasionally organizes events in Saroyan's second homeland - Armenia too. Attendees of the event also had an opportunity to "visit" the museum via Virtual Reality glasses and also took their photos with 3D animation of Saroyan by Augmented Reality (AR) app. Both these applications are available free to download from the App Store and Google play market here.
