The "Three Ages of Saroyan" Return Home

20 Feb 2020

Saroyan House Museum is pleased to announce that it has updated the hologram content of the Museum, in cooperation with "The Interactive World" company. On the 20th of February was the first presentation of the new hologram. There were guests from the Armenian community of Fresno and LA.

The Saroyan House Museum team has put a lot of effort to come up with the most accurate portrayal of Saroyan; a photograph taken by Dan Weiner in 1953 served as a basis for recreating the interior of the Hologram room. The Saroyan House Museum team managed to revive Saroyan's character by using his photographs and archival recordings. They were used to create a longer and more exciting Hologram content, which represents Saroyan at three different stages of his life.

Now the visitors will have the opportunity to see Saroyan's character at various stages of his life. Initially, the hologram portrays Saroyan as a telegraph messenger who was wandering in the streets of Fresno—dreaming about becoming a writer. Twelve-year-old Gagik Margarian plays this part. After that, the hologram shows the young, successful, and ambitious playwright at the peak of his fame, which is represented by a songwriter, TV host, and actor Avet Barseghyan. And last but not least, Fresno's favorite bicycle rider appears—the renowned writer with gentle eyes and walrus mustache, played by Baron Hovnanian, a veteran real-estate developer, and patron to charities.

With the contribution and the great devotion of all and, especially, The Saroyan House Museum team, our vision became a reality, and now the spectator may see a beautifully enriched hologram and experience the new interactive exhibition.
